Presentations and Consultation
The NASW Code of Ethics speaks on the need for professional competency. What better way to expand on professional competency than to grow that of others.
Individuals seeking consultation may reach me via the Contact Me tab to discuss their needs.
Training Topics
I started my training career in 2015 when I saw a need for more social work CEUs to be offered. I have enjoyed sharing with others and helping them advance in their skills sets to best help those we serve.
The topic of Motivational Interviewing was where I started and the passion to share such a useful tool with other providers has never stopped.
Motivational Interviewing - back to the basics
Motivational Interviewing is an evidence based practice that can easily join with other modalities to help individuals struggling with ambivalence toward making progress with their own stages of change. I utilize the third edition of Motivational Interviewing - Helping People Change by William R Miller and Stephen Rollnick as my guide.
ADHD Parenting Course
This is a three part course that I have developed after seeing a need for parents to better understand the complexities that come in raising a child with ADHD. I utilize knowledge I have gain in my 60+ hours of professional training on the topic, countless hours reading articles and books and real life lived experiences from my practice and raising our son who's brain also works with ADHD. I want to share that experience with others, so they don't feel lost in their journey.
ADHD - a need for family based therapy
The American Academy of Pediatrics and American Academy of Children and Adolescent Psychiatry encourages a parenting focus when working with youth. This course was developed to help fellow clinicians grow their knowledge base on ADHD, the reasons for a family based approach and guide them on strategies to help incorporate families into the clinical space.
